Thanks! :-)
Interesting that some people thought this is a "Lens Ball". I'd forgotten about those and have not owned one.
The object in this photo is simply a glass marble. The "shooter" one that is about the size of a quarter (25 cent piece). |

and yeah .. f16 sorta negates the lensbaby affect .. makes it like a 'normal' lens .. ;) |

congrats on top honours for that lens ..
and YAY that you got the blue with a lensbaby .. thats quite an achievement .. here especially .. as the lensbaby affect isnt for everyone ..
anyway .. its a magic shot Barry .. the bit i love the most is where the sun's rays are coming down and the textured look behind it .. and of course the star on the globe .. oh and the colours .. what's not to like .. lol ..
it also has a bit of an atmosphere going on .. slightly dark .. but then there's the light .. light from without and light from within .. a bit like life can be sometimes ..
thanks for the story .. i always love to read them .. :) |

Congratulations Barry. This is so gorgeous. I didn't realise that it was a marble. I thought it was a larger ball and that the support was a tree trunk. (Lucky it is small scale, I've almost set a wooden table alight with my glass ball.) |

The image within the glass globe is startlingly beautiful and mysterious, which is enough in itself. In its setting it's fascinating many times over. The modest palette is lovely. Haunting, given to yearning, pushing at revelation. You're an alchemist. |

I really don't have much of a need for these balls, and rarely am impressed with their photos. But this is gorgeous because of the lighting, the colors and the tones. I love having my opinions be challenged! |
