This was fabricated by using candy sprinkles and M and M's in a flowered bowl filled with seltzer and magnified through a large lighted magnifying glass.

Meeting the Challenge:
This might be appropriate if someone was looking for a party theme photo, combination of colors and patterns, or maybe an Easter or Candy theme. Not what I would consider a typical stock photo, but with today's diversity it might well work for a particular need.

Composition:
The eggs do stand out to me, but the patterns in the bowl are a little distracting. The brightness of the center helps create the focal point. I am not personally wild about centered photos, and this is a little off from left to right. I might have left the wider horizontal edge at the bottom to give it a little "anchor" rather than having it at the top. I like the dark background, might have wanted to increase darkness just slightly more in levels to help even out the blackish areas in such.

Technical Quality: A bit over exposed in the middle, which detracts from the clarity in the middle section, esp with the little candies. I think you did well considering you were using a magnifying glass, though!

Creativity: Very good in this area, your photo was definitely unique.

Overall conclusion: I think your idea was good, but the bowl in the photo may really haved caused problems with exposure, and made the photo a little too busy and a little questionable about the theme of this "stock" photo.

Strange idea. Very colourful, but the composition is too central without a good reason for it. The objects at the centre are underwhelming compared to the plate, in my opinion. I don't think it would work in many applications as a stock photo.

Nice colors but seems to be a little bit too busy.

Nice shot with vibrant colors. The colors in the surrounding area are more muted and this offers a gentle contrast. I seem to see a bit of grain in the dark areas as if the exposure wasn't exactly on the money. If I were a photo buyer, I'm not quite sure what this would illustrate unless it depicts the art of a particular culture (past or present). As a stock photographer, I don't think this would be a top seller in my collection but it's still a very nice picture.

I love your candy dish! Great composition, you should probably have it evenly cropped top & bottom. (the top margin is just a little wider) Also, the candies in the center are much brighter and somewhat overexposed. Because the lovely, artistic dish has muted colors, the center seems too bright.

This is an interesting shot with a bit of an abstract twist... The candy dish is quite colorful :) - setzler

Slightly uncentered. Nice piece, but it doesn't make a very effective picture, at least in the context of this photograph.

This is a fun idea, but the focus seems to be more on the gorgeous bowl than the candy. I think this would have more impact in a plain bowl. - Great idea though! You made me hungry!
