 this is Fred ..

nearly every single day he goes out on his bike collecting cans and bottles on the side of the road ..

his world has shrunk due to alzheimer's .. you could almost say he's obsessed with the need to go out collecting cans and bottles .. he gets money back for them .. where we live its called a return and earn program where you receive a 10c refund for each container ..

as a family we feel that Fred has slowed down the progression of the alzeimer's mainly due to the exercise he gets riding his bike on his quest to find cans and bottles ..

it really is one of his most defining features .. :)

Oh that makes me sad, but happy he̢۪s keeping busy, such a terrible disease.
