 he/she was at the most 6 hours old when this was taken. If you look at the nose, it's still messy and the fur is still wet.

It was born in my front yard in the early morning hours, which resulted in a standoff between the mother and my 3 dogs around 6:30 in the morning. I am amazed that she didn't kill any of them (she tried). After I got the dogs safely inside, I got my camera and got this shot. I kept the dogs in until later in the day, when I confirmed that the mother had moved her baby.

I absolutely adore this image. Congratulations on the ribbon. If I were to offer any suggestion (for future use where it was allowed) it would be to change the color of the orange leaf to brown. That bright spot of color is distracting, and I don't feel the integrity of the scene would suffer from that alteration.
