We got pretty close to the bears. Or should I say they got close to us!!!.......Sometime the 400mm lens was too much and I had to ask the guide to back off a bit with the boat!

Barroness, it was just luck, after a long multi legged journey from Arkansas to the wilds of Alaska, cold, rain and standing in 40 degree water, the right bear came along at the right moment and voila! Miraculously the right settings were in the camera at that moment and I snapped at just the right time!
I am in love with the bears. They were amazing!
All credit to the bear!

this is absolutely amazing ..
many many congratulations on the blue and first place on your profile page amongst some incredible animal and bird photos ..
i love that there isnt a vote less than 7 .. although nothing less than 8 would have been a lot better ..
btw .. i cant imagine getting a shot like this .. national geographic photo if ever there was one ..
