 Despondency in the elderly is what I wanted to portray. My photo was taken outside on a covered porch on a gloomy, rainy day in Dallas. Photo was desaturated in Photoshop Elements 2.0 to a black and white, cropped ever so slightly, and resized.

Critique Club Critique:

First off I want to say I really liked this picture. Nice composition and a crisp clean image. I like how the texture of his clothes give a soft feeling to this shot. Why is he propping his elbow up with his hand? He does look sad though which gives a good sense of despair. It looks like its cold outside since his collar is propped up. Overall good detail, good lighting and good overall shot.

Beautiful b/w shot with just gorgeous tonal qualities to it. The soft folds in his coat have such texture, and the whole thing is framed beautifully. This is a truly beautiful, artistic shot. Congrats.

Looks more bored than dispairing. Is this posed? I've never seen anyone actually put their arm on their hand like that.

Subject could be taking a nap, in deep thought or just plain bored. Good idea and execution. May not fit the theme (can be anything).
