i was sitting in my tv room and noticed movement outside ..

tod had found this Eastern Long-Necked Turtle wandering through the yard .. it had been raining ..

"Although the Eastern Long-Necked Turtle spends most of its time in the water, they often travel over land in search of new waterholes and nesting areas and can be known to travel very long distances in search of a new home."

"Turtles come out in the rain for a number of reasons .. one being the risk of dehydration and overheating is diminished."

anyway .. tod lost interest very quickly but i was fortunate to get a couple of shots of him with the turtle ..

unfortunately on portrait mode my phone blurred some of the wrong bits ..

anyway .. the poor little guy had one injured eye which is why tod was able to get so close .. the turtle couldnt see him from that angle .. otherwise he would have tucked his little head into his shell ..

we took it down to the dam hoping it would find some friends .. :)

ps. i gave its proper name in the title rather than just saying 'turtle' .. because ppl may have thought it was a tortoise because of the claws .. :)

There a certain finesse in our pictures Roz that make me revisiting them. You do take in consideration the topic but always turn it into a story somehow.
I’d ,like to go back in the archives to a topic such as “banana” or “rubber ducky” just to look at your approach.
A photo unless is for stock image shall always have more than plopping its subject

this is really a picture of the rapt attention some beings have it in their bag of tricks to pay out to other beings.
