For me, Irving Penn is a great portrait photographer, before everything else. Here, I tried to morph into both his Richard Avedon and his Truman Capote.

This is just a wow picture - regardless of wether it was inspired bei Irving Penn or not.
But since it was (Willem has a special eye for the connections) it is even more impressive.

this was definitely the blue in my book .. a brilliant recreation of one of Irving Penn's portraits ..

Almost a combination of two of his portraits (Avedon and Capote). The light/shadows could have been made even more harsh and dark. I don't feel the same atmosphere.
