I have entered, removed, re-entered, removed and re-edited this thing a million times it seems. Hopefully, I have had enough time to learn from each edit what might improve the shot. Hopefully, it won't be considered over-processed.
This kind of shot is much more difficult than I anticipated! I chose to imitate "A Splash of Color" for a few reasons. First, I just like that shot. Second, it was done with a Sony 707, so I knew it was within my camera's capabilities. And third, the appeal of the photo was not dependent on a challenge theme.
I came no where near the clarity and appeal of the original, IMO, but it was fun trying! I'm happy with the shot, but I could be happier. Focus just was a killer to get spot on.
Anyway...I hope it does well, but I really have no expectations at all for this. It would not surprise me to tank badly, and it wouldn't surprise me to do decently. I suppose I'm not expecting a ribbon, however. |

I like this concept a lot. I've been experimenting with water drops a lot of late. I love the range of colors and reflections of those colors in the drop... |

A little grainy, maybe on purpose -- I like how the "look" seems to blend from photo to more painting-like. |

A touch of grain, but outside of this a superb capture with vibrant colors. Bumping up. |

Oh so close. Just wish it weren't so grainy. |

An interesting spin on a classic idea. I suppose you used colored objects over the water as opposed to food coloring in the water? |

The mix of colours and their relative positions make for a delightful picture. |

Cool shot. Interested to know how you did it. Seems grainy though - the blue in the upper right and the green lower left. |

Try out Neat Image to get rid of some of that noise, other than that it really is perfect. |

the colors are very nice, but the noise really hurts it.
i had a hard time getting enough light and low ISO for these shots.
i have given up until i get a decent flash...
