Fits The Challenge-Yes, although the despair is not tragic, or depressed to a great extent here.
Composition-Nice. I don't know if you happened on this person or if you staged it. I do like it, the person and the stairs.
Background-Good
My Opinion-It's a bit dark for my liking. Of course it goes with the over all mood of the shot/challenge. I'm not sure I'd of cropped off the feet. I like this shot, it's unusual, and good to look at.

| Looks like they're napping to be perfectly honest. The contrast is a little too much judging by the whiteness of the hands and conversely dark clothes. |

| decent photo, sharp on the details. B&W was a common choice for these despair photo's (funny that) and works well with this photo. This subject was a little overplayed this week, unfortunately, which will probably bring your score down some as people get bored with looking at hunched-over people. Hope your photo was closer to the top of the voting page. |

| this definately has a despair feel to it. The stairs make it look like the person is in a not so glamourous place, and the pose and look are sad and desperate. The angle and framing/cropping are good. I wonder how this would look also if you could have captured the persons feet wearing some old worn shoes or something. might have had some heightened effect for the challenge. overall a really nice shot. great focus and clarity and the use of black and white is good here. good luck in the challenge. |
