Currently, Delaware County is under a level 3 snow emergency. That means no driving, which means no leatherlips for you guys :D

Took a picture of my face, sihlouetted it, printed two copies out (one of it flipped) and made them stands. Set them up infront of a vase filled with water, and a posterboard behind. The flower is a silk flower my mom had that I commandeered. Used two spotlights and a mag light, one for the background, one for the vase, and the maglite on the flower. Burned and cloned the faces so they'd be all black, resized, and saved for DPC.

Greetings from the CC, Very good idea and fairly well executed. My biggest criticism would be of the odd format, while I feel the top of the flower could use a little more space, I also think the sides could too. the flower esp on the right seems tooclose to the edge.
I suspect that you had to do it this way because to the faces, perhaps if the flower was more dead center?
Just a thought, overall you get a 10 for creative interpretation : )
well done

Woohoo, another top 20. I'm moving on up, eh?

For those of you who begged and inquired and are curious about how this was done, see the orginal and its comments:

Cheers

I wonder if they'll let me write a "How'd They Do That?" about this one... that'd be fun.

I really don't see the face. Maybe I'm missing something.

neat take on classic. Lighting on the flower is a little harsh.

Nice face. It looks a little over done in PS.

Sweet! What a great concept for the challenge...and well done! I only wish I could get closer to the photo--but then, I suspect, I would wish the rose were real.

This is very witty, erudite. A photographic take on the age-old hidden face graphic. the lighting seems a little pedestrian to me, but I love the concept.

Very Gestalt! Edges seem too sharp and the vase lost it's three dimensional quality. Creative idea nonetheless

Beautful image, but...
defies the challenge description.

Took me a minute. I think the flower was leading me off the faces. I wonder what the impact would be if you had used colored water in the vase.

Ah - the 'ole optical illusion from a class I had way back when. Exceptionally well executed. I hope people look at it long enough to see the hidden faces! Top ten!

Famous illusion...did you draw it in with photoshop or did you use cardboard cutouts?
