A very nice presentation, but dof here must be deep enough to give this image that extra edge. Bumping up on cool composition.

This is really close to being really nice -- I very much enjoy the graphic aspect of the image, but the technical details -- particularly sharpenss and/or depth of field, alignment of the subjects -- leave something to be desired. I think that shooting with a small apeture would get all three gears sharp.

Would be a very good image if the focus were sharper.

Bit noisy, though nice idea

This is a really nice idea swallowed by the blandness of the plastic. Hard steel and making the shadows long and upwards like mountains using more of that dead white space, or anything but grey lifeless plastic.

simple and effective - slight loss of detail in the top and bottom cogs, but still a good idea

I like the simplicity of the image - but I think the high contrast and narrow DOF are a bit too harsh.

I like your idea here. I feel some real potential in the concept. I like the simplicity, and your use of rot and negative space, and the shadows are good. I think the focus could be sharper though, and maybe if the gears were at a slight diagonal line with a little bit (just a touch) of offset (space) between them it would improve the shot.

Very interesting composition. I like the vast whiteness on the right side of the photo. It adds so much drama to the picture!

You took such a simple image and made it spectacular. I love the crop with the 3 gears all on the left. The shadows are wonderful and almost appear as another set of gears! Losing a little focus on 2 or 3 gears.

I'm not so sure if the strong side lighting and resulting shadows add to the aesthestics of the image. DOF is too shallow and the foremost gear struggles to be in focus. The negative space is a nice touch, and your border is subtle yet effective. Overall a nice enough entry which I think suffers from choice of lighting and depth of field.

High-key shots are tricky to get right... in this case you seem to have lost a lot of the detail on the edges of the gears, which is a shame, because I like the simple composition. A wider depth-of-field might also have helped.
