 A mandarin orange sliced and turned inside out, together with a 52 tooth chainring from a bicycle. Laid on a microwave glass dish, lit from below with a 550ex and an orange paper above to act as a reflector.

PS work:

Changed exposure through camera raw to brighten it
sharpenned, contrast and saturation. Changed shadows settings in camera raw to get the detail to stand out.

Added a small border to keep it all in place ;-)

I'm really surprised you didn't score higher than some of the other CWO submissions. Yours was truely very creative and nicely done.

A lot of thought went into this and I like it as it is different to all the others as a lot of people had the same idea, but yours is a different approach and therefore will score a lot more with me :)

very original!!! a lot of effort went into this photo, and i love that it's a gear made from an orange, rather than clockparts with an orange like some of the other entries. that background is so interesting, and definitely creates continuity with the orange.

This is my favorite of the clockwork orange submissions. It seems to have taken the most effort. I'm trying to figure out what the background is. I think i would like it better if the backgorund had been less complicated, but it's still nice.
