| what i would give to see a cardinal around here when i have my camera! it always seems to be either one or the other for me. i hope you are not getting overlooked, and that you are getting good comments and suggestions. if this doesn't score where you want it to, please don't take it personally; just look at it as a good starting point for the rest of the year. compositionally, i think you'd have a better image if it wasn't so centered, and technically, it would probably be better if the focus were a bit sharper. good luck! |

| Very pretty colors. The crop seems a little odd, however, placing the bird smack in the middle of the frame makes it less interesting than if could be. |

| Focus appears off. I would have tweaked a little and brought more of the bird's colours out. |
