Oh, I think I have been here. I thought I recognized the building but was this taken from the side. From memory, where you are standing would be a hill that had a cross on it? I do remember this was one incredible place to visit and your photo really does capture its majesty! Well done! |

Nicely composed and well seen.
As an avid B&W lover, this shot seems a bit too neutral to me. Brigning down the brightness and increasing the contrast a bit may help, and/or going into Photoshop, Selective Colors, drop-downs, and adjust Black & Neutral levels. Hope this helps. I would Love to play with this shot. ((7)) |

Returning for comment. This is a very nicely shot photo. I like the B&W treatment. I think it could use some increased contrast and some details are blown out on the building. The tree in the lower right corner is a tad distracting. 7 |

Wonderful picture, losing imapct because the dark tones aren't fully expressed. In other words, it ;lacks contrast in the middle range, and this makes the pure, detailed white of the glowing dome appear out of range, even though it's actually not. |

Beautiful. Love the contrast of the building against the beautifully ominous sky. It's sharp but has a nice softness to it as well. |

i know you don't want to hear this, but i liked the color one better...
this is a great image, and you've done a good job with the sky and the overall contrast, but, all the same, after having seen both, i prefer the other one. hope this does well for you, anyways! good luck! |

Astoundingly beautiful, a ten. Please, afterward, tell us how this was processed. I really want to learn to make images with these kind of tones. Wonderful, thank you for this. |

Wow, what a gorgeous black and white. The tonal range is excellent, especially in the sky. At least an 8, will come back later to consider bumping higher. |

What an excellent, excellent B&W capture of San Xavier del Bac! Even the blurring of the foreground vegetation works well with this composition. I took pictures there last month after the scafolding completely covered the west dome but your shot is far superior to mine. I look forward to the completion of the restoration and having the White Dove of the Desert shining once again. I gotta get one of those Arizona Highways type night views. :) |
