This is my first photo on this site. Not quite sure that it can be qualified as new technique but decided to post anyway. This photo of the fish tank was taken with long exposure (1 sec), so moving fishes look like color bands. Basically zero postprocessing (some USM). Will appreciate any comments on how it can be improved.

max,
usually motion blur looks nice if there is a sharp subject (here, a fish) in the end of it. It could be achieved either by using a flash in slow sync mode (2nd curtain), or by training a fish to move a bit and then stand still for a couple of seconds. The first is probably impossible because of the glare off the glass wall, the second is pretty hard, too :)

i would find this more interesting if the focus was a bit sharper. motion blur tends to be a lot more effective when the environment is absolutely dialed in. nice effort though. keep at it.
