I think I'd have cropped off more or all of the rightmost trunk to further isolate the subject branches.

Good colors of the tree. The river looks a little yucky in the color department tho I really like the reflections. Too bad the sky is so overcast. A little more of a clear dusk would've helped a lot.

definately a naturally occuring number. the background isn't overly exciting, however you have done a good job with it. the focus and clarity are good, angle and framing/cropping are also good. the only thing I find a tad distracting is that the main horizon line is angled. I realize that if you straightened that up, then the water line would be tilted. so I'm not really sure if there is much you can do about it, so it's just an observation rather than a suggestion. good luck in the challenge.
