i definitely thought this was going to win. i like the inclusion of the 'spacebar' text. its important to advertise something clearly, after all, 'giving it away' is what beer ads are all about, and anyone that thinks the alcohol industry isnt a big fat moneygrubbing whore is kidding themselves. you gave away that this was a computer game and you still managed to do a good job of putting the viewer where they belong in the ad - a position in which they desire the marketed product. inclusiveness is how ads appeal to people.

absolutely, positively, definitely, robbed.

Tim - You were robbed! Your photo really belongs in the top three. Everything about it is well done. And the text in the upper left absolutely should be there. It's an ad for a video game input device, for crying out loud!

Nice work. The sweat on the hands was an excellent touch. I imagine this was a rather difficult photo, but you pulled it off well.
05/12/2002 10:10:00 PM
Nice idea, but the image is too cluttered to be a compelling piece of marketing.
05/12/2002 08:02:00 PM
why are your hands wet?
05/12/2002 05:25:00 PM
Yeah, that's good. How did you do it?
05/12/2002 03:11:00 PM
Ya need to crop the upper left out, somehow. Otherwise, great shot!
05/12/2002 02:05:00 PM
Good job conveying the mood of playing the game and using the wheel
05/11/2002 04:45:00 PM
This picture is so cool! Great job!
05/11/2002 07:13:00 AM
good angle--sweet
05/11/2002 05:40:00 AM
It's a bit too busy, oops, no, wait, I just got it. Did a nice job of pulling the tract through.
05/10/2002 02:44:00 PM
That has to be Nascar on a large TV. Very well done.
05/10/2002 02:42:00 PM
My son wants one...

Great shot, good lighting and love the sweat on the hands/arms.
05/09/2002 03:31:00 PM
that is just the picture on the box
05/09/2002 02:24:00 PM
Cool graphics.

So good. The slight blur and sweat on your hands gives me that white-knuckle feeling, and the angle works there, too. Wish I had a monitor that big. Only thing I can think of to improve the image would be some kind of gel over the lightsouce, maybe blue or red, to make it a little more atmospheric.

Cute shot. Had me going for a minute. I don't play arcade games enough, I guess! This could sell this game in an ad!
05/08/2002 10:33:00 PM
I love how it looks like you are really driving and even the blurry hands give a sense of motion. I wish the upper-left hand corner text wasn't there, though!
05/08/2002 05:56:00 PM
no way!! ... dude that is excellent!! great action and composition, bravo -- question tho' did you intende to leave the text showing in upper left, cause without that i may never have figured out that you didn't shoot it on a race course
05/08/2002 05:18:00 PM
Interesting picture.
05/07/2002 08:39:00 PM
Excellent.

Whoa, excellent photo! Great colours, lots of excitement, effective motion blur, and the lighting and positioning of the brand name are exactly right. I think it would appeal to its intended market very well.
05/06/2002 10:38:00 PM
nice photo
05/06/2002 10:28:00 PM
Good execution
05/06/2002 07:43:00 PM
Great set up, lighting, color. Where can I buy one? #1 in the challenge!
05/06/2002 05:34:00 PM
This is really nice! Excellent shot! The only minor issue is the text in the upper left.. could that have been cropped out??? Nice job!!
05/06/2002 05:28:00 PM
Nice feel to it. I think I'll buy it. :)
05/06/2002 04:44:00 PM
Very cool idea. It really looks like your driving.
05/06/2002 03:00:00 PM
Nice idea - well captured. You should have cropped the upper left corner though...
05/06/2002 02:16:00 PM
press spacebar to hide controls
05/06/2002 12:37:00 PM
Very good! Good composition and shows the usage of the wheel very well.
05/06/2002 11:06:00 AM
I like this shot! The blur adds to the sense of motion, but the subject of the advert (the center of the wheel) is VERY readable. Good job! Minus 1 point overall due
to the "edges". See the "press the spacebar" in the upper left corner? And the screen edges on both sides? Still wonderful job. Photo 10 Advert 10 total 9
05/06/2002 09:51:00 AM
HAhAHA. Excellent. Took me a minute to figure out how the hell you managed to take this picture and then I noticed the "...press space bar to hide..." in the upper left. Nice job.
05/06/2002 09:50:00 AM
Very clever idea here. I would of like a tighter crop on the sides and the name with more light,...... ? glowing or smokin'!
05/06/2002 07:56:00 AM
This is really cool. It merges well with the tv. Nice job
05/06/2002 06:58:00 AM
Are you sweating? Took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at: arcade, monitor, tv, etc. I think you should've cropped out the "press spacebar to hide controls" in the top left corner to keep me wondering. The wheel is nicely lit to draw our attention to it.
05/06/2002 04:32:00 PM
I hope you realise that having your photo taken whilst driving can be very dangerous.

I really like the idea of this looks exciting
