well, tracy, your notes say it all! you captured the image you sought out, and it is one that would never get a justifiable score. just don't let the scoring deter you! |

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.
i can completely relate to the quietly enjoying the piano in the dark, and can also appreciate your attempt to capture this aspect of yourself. i think, though, that it's just a bit too dark, and that the lit parts act more as distractions than supporting elements. then again, maybe this is exactly what you wanted. good luck! |

A white sheet covering the door and thus removing that texture from the photo would have made this a GREAT shot. 7 |

This image is too dark. You need a better lighting, and more contrast. I´m sorry, but I think it will be scored low. |

This shot would have worked better if the candle on the piano wasn't dead center. Because it is so light against the rest of the frame, it becomes the focal point and throws off the overall composition. Overall, the shot is very dark. Concept is decent, technique could be better. |
