 A kitchen witch is dried oranges hung on a string along with cinamon sticks and dried bay leaves. You hang them in a window in the kitchen, and the sun shines through them. They look great and smell good too. This one was made by my kids at daycare.

This is a close up of the dried orange, lit from behind.

Slight level and saturation adjustments plus USM. Crop and border. That's it.

Great macro. Only gripe would be the soft focus around the edges. Perhaps a different color background would work better than white too. The lighting is nice and the texture is great. That's probably what turned some people off though. It's a bit icky looking, but I think it's cool. Simple, effective border. Very nice score for a macro on dpc too. The contrast and saturation is obviously really high... I wonder if you couldn't lighten it a tad.

This is not a very appealing image... I mean, not in a bad way.. Is it an orange slice? or something like that? It's great in texture and light. It looks like some kind of microscopic thing...
