 Since I do not have any studio light/equipments, I setup a simple mirror, tilted it 30 degree to the sun to minimize lens glare. To include the white background on the picture, I put up couple of legal size white paper behind the mirror and made sure they are also reflected along with the white feather.

Converted from raw with capture, cropped/resized and sharpened for the web. I only added +30 lightness in Hue/Saturation in PS CS. Nothing else was done to the picture.

more of a black and white photo than a "light color" on white background as the challenge suggests.

Interesting. I can't tell whether it's two feathers or one on a mirror. Like it. Like the soft background.
