Thanks everybody for your comments. I didn't expect this shot to do as well as it did so am quite happy. Not a bad start for my first DPChallenge - hopefully I can continue to improve. |

Excellent scene. The trees on the edge of the horizon seem wqy oversharpnened but that's what makes this challenge so difficult. AA was the master of total DOF without looking artificial. - 8 |

Excellent conrast. I wonder, did you blend two RAW develops, as there seems to be a dark band at the top of the treeline? |

Lot of character, The mountain face with all the pines or cyprses? is very intrigueing. The water below adds contrast. I lilke the fact that there are very few clouds. The sky does not distract from the rest of the picture. 7 |

Really nice tones to this shot. I think I would have liked a little less centered composition and more room at the top of the photo, above the hill. As it is, though, it's still one of my top 10 picks. |

I think I have seen this before let's see
New Zealand somewhere in the Taupo, Rotorua, Hamilton area
.....could it be Train :)
this is a great shot I love the water
but it needs a little more contrast in either the trees or the scrub... I gave you an 8

Nice image, nice frame. Would have been interested to see how it would have been with longer exposure to even out the ripples which are a little distracting to me. Top 5 I reckon though, 9 from me. |

For an AA composition, more diagonals would have made this shot pop. Still a good study with good tones. 7. |

Lovely scene with good (if a little straight-on) light. To make it more Adamsy I would have liked a little more sky and just a tiny bit blacker blacks. Excellent work, though. One for the wall. 8 |
