Beautiful Spanish mission elevation - Skillfull crop and composition bring out this narrative. Interesting gated door offset and complement the ancient/distressed butress wall and foreground cobbstone street. Obvious care taken with exposure and superior processing. A quality of drama is sustained by sky and trees which contrast in a subtle but realistic way w/ lighting on the facade. It is interesting the way the tree and tower are parallel on the horizon.

This photo communicates a sense of mystery and a bit of a feeling of dread, too, with it's locked doors and gate, the dark foreboding sky, the stark tree and the black points on the building. The contrast of darks and lights is very nice and the photo includes a large palette of grays too. A couple things that I think could have made your photo stronger would have been to somehow eliminate the 2 trees that you just see a bit of, on the left and on the right. This would have been especially nice on the left, as it would have made the shape of the church stand out a bit more. The texture of the roadway in the foreground is very nice too, but perhaps cropping it a bit too would make the whole composition stronger. All in all, it's one of my top pics.

WOnderful photo, the sky is a definite plus. Unfortuantely, the framing makes the tree look awkjwardly like it is poking out of the roof.
