Location: Memphis, TN
Date: Mar 6, 2005
Aperture: f16

Galleries: Landscape, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Mar 6, 2005

One of my favorite photos of Adams was flower on driftwood. This was sort of inspired by it, but nothing like it. I just didn't want an expansive landscape, because i knew there would be plenty of those to see in the challenge. I'm sure I'll get slammed, but i really don't care.

Taken with Nikon D70 with Nikkor AF-S 12-24 f4 @ about 20mm. Converted to B&W using CS's channel mixer. Then levels & sharpening.

I like the texture, but would prefer to see a little more sharpening applied.

I like the simplicity of this composition, somehow it is a very pleasing picture for me (9)

Revisiting and explaining my lower scores - I hope to be helpful, not insulting.

I only rated this a 4 because there seems to be too much detail that has been lost. Tonality is okay, but I think AA would have found more white to use, thus covering the entire histogram a little better. The shadows are distracting without adding value.

Something compelling here. The bark has a sheer cliff like appearance. Good luck on this interesting AA representation.
