 lots of these beautiful flowers are blooming near UCSD parking lot (believe it or not, they use them as ground cover there). Shot handheld on the way to work, using a tripod and a slightly greater DOF would definitely improve it... oh well.

In post prcessing sharpened the flowers, blurred the background, adjusted levels, cropped, added border, saved for web

(I personally don't care for the colored border, but not deducting for it's use).

Wonderful depth of field, definition, neat composition, colour tones perfect, great light. Hate the way you've bordered it - really hate it, but am trying not to let it affect my vote. I think it would sell.
