 It is really a sunrise picture taken with kirbic on a photo safari he suggested while here in Phoenix for a conference.

I'd thought leaving at 3:30am (earlier for kirbic) to make sunrise was a waste of time because of a drab sky. Then for a grand total of about 1 minute this color appeared out of nowhere. This was my first click of the day.

Post Processing:
1-Light Neatimage for noise reduction
2-Slight curves adjustment
3-Channel Mixer to bring out yellows and reds
4-50% Overlay layer used for highlighting
5-Rotate and crop
6-Resize and apply .3 USM
7-Clone out slight haloing in a couple spots

Nice! The cactus is a strong silhouette subject though I find the rest of the foreground silhouette a bit messy/ scrappy - doesn't quite work for me in terms of composition/ balance. Great strong colours in that sky though!

Striking photo. Colors are lovely and rich! Composition is right on leading to a well balanced, engaging photo. NeatImage or some other software may have been used a bit too much? Nice work! 9

Fantastic sunset! I love the colors and the silhouette of the cactus, but the composition leaves me feeling a bit off-balnace. Perhaps it's because the cactus doesn't hit either a thirds line or wind up centered... --8

wow - absolutely beautiful - the cactus makes for a great subject against a magnificent background, the composition is excellent and the colors are dynamic - my favorite of the challenge!
