I've just noticed this image (I didn't vote on this challenge), this is a great image, sharp, well exposed and very suited to B/W conversion.
I could not understand how this could have scored so low, then I stood up - I'm looking at this image on an LCD screen, from where I was sitting the background is a pure black, as I stand up I can see various shades of grey in the background - the background really needs to be pure black. That said it deserves something like a 5.5 average as is (and a 6+ with a solid background) |

Nice lighting. I like the way the background is black enough that it seems to eat the light up. Nice mix of static and motion. Black and white works well with the subject matter. |

Eeeeenteresting take on the challenge. What are all those white specs on the left of the image? Dust? Particulate flying off whatever is being bored? Still, me likes. |

My idea for the challenge (I wound up not entering) was a view through the spindle, but lighing turned out to be a nightmare, and my spindle's not big enough for a good view. Good luck! |

Hmmmm....
The motion is nice.
The B&W an obvious choice.
The angle of your composition leaves an unfortunate amount of empty space, however. |

top left corner is distracting (the top of the lathe), nice movement, nice focus, nice use of B/W. A bit of a stretch for the challenge but I still like it. |

Including a bored looking operator with your pun might have improved the image. |

Really like this shot a lot! It's clean and I happen to get the humor in the subject matter. If it truly fits into the "Boredom" style is not for me to decide. I will vote this well. Good job. |

I thought of "bored" in this way too - but you have done it much better than I could have done. I haven't got a lathe, for a start. I like the b&w on this and the motion blur on the lathe. Don't know if the left and right elements could have been brought a fraction closer, as there is quite a big black gap in the middle of the picture.
