I was checking on my brothers cabin when I saw this wild peacock in the woods. These things are hard to shoot. I kept trying to flank it, but everytime I moved right, it moved left. This was the best shot I got out of about 15. Such a beautiful bird. Too bad I couldn't get it with it's feathers raised!

I never knew that peacock could be wild, what a majestic bird. The brush in the foreground is a little bit distracting to the eye.

Good shot. Would like to have seen more plumage.

nice. with the exception of the blue, the bird blends in.

well, that's not something you expect to see everyday. well, at least not around here. buzzards, crows, turkeys--yes, peafowl--no. nice capture. love the colors. good luck!

For this shot to work, I think you need a bigger lens. The bird occupies such a small part of the image overall that its intricate detail is lost amongst the busy backdrop of the woods. You may also be able to imrpove this kind of shot by shooting with a wider aperture. Something like f/2 or f/4 on a telephoto would have a good chance of throwing that background completely out of focus and leaving a nice bokeh in its place.
