I actually like having the background as it is. It provides a sense of context. The slight greenish cast is unfortunate, as is the way the edge got chopped off during the framing.

Salsify or Goatsbeard? I think I would have cropped it to the other side since the light seems to be coming from the left. Nice detail, but seems to have a greenish cast.

It seems like there is to much cyan color on this photo... you could try a less aperture to get a shallow DOF to isolate the flower from the non interesting background.

Find the thread in the forums called "a comment from BradP" and try the color enhancement that he suggests there. This image might benefit from the saturating the yellows.

I'm partly wondering if you boosted the green color as the flower seems to have a slight green cast. The details are good, not too soft, but could do with a little more breathing room on the left hand side.
