Challenge: In the Beginning... (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: Snæfellsnes, Iceland
Date: Mar 25, 2005
Aperture: f/22
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/40
Date Uploaded: Mar 28, 2005

Editing:
(i) Slightly cropped and rotated to make the ocean more level - I couldn't fix it entirely as that would have resulted in the rocks on the left to go beyond the frame.
(ii) Hue/saturation.
(iii) Shadow/highlights.
(iv) Unsharp mask (20, 50, 0) to increase contrast.
(v) Resize.
(vi) Unsharp mask (174, 0.5, 0) to increase apparent sharpness.

Thanks go to DogAngel for the title.

Nice framing and great lines. I love the texture of the sand as well.

I would wish for a less blatant composition, perhaps: a wider-angle lens and a less forced concentration on the sand: there's just enough horizon to feel forced to appreciate the natural setting, but it's placed so as to be entirely subsidiary to the image: there's a hint of sunrise in your title, and not so much in your image.

Reminds me of western Iceland.... ;)
The Horizon seems to tilt a bit, sloping to the left. Very nice detail from forground and back. Very nice shot.

reminds me of the "when I carried you" poster - which I find a bit sickening!! (sorry) nice image though - greate capture, detail and nice location. don't know if this could have been cropped so as to keep the real horizon straight, rather than the photographic horizon.

Very nice, the only thing I dont like is the frame . the white just pulls my eyes towards it maybe a color that is also featured in your photo would have been better, or no frame at all :)

Very crisp, nice shot. The border is a bit large and seems to detract from photo. I think if you had been able to capture this same scene with out the footprints it would have really stood out. (Unmarked sand signifying a fresh pallete for the day to start on)

should have been bare foot , not boots!

It's a great photo, but it's about footpints on a beach. One footprint; that's the beginning of a journey. A whole beach full of footprints and we're off somewhere else entirely.

This is a nice image and I love the concept as well. I like how you can see the details in the texture of the footprints. I also love the lighting on the beach and the beautiful colors of the beach, water, and sky. Nice work.
