 Taken on the same morning in the same location as my Snow Angel.
It was a good morning--the last real "wintery" day.
I expect to see several similar shots.
I like this one because it is not exactly sunrise.
I have always wanted to have a shot like this to my credit.

Editing is minimal. Crop. Levels. Boosted hue on yellow and red with shifts to make them more similar. Boosted hue on green and darkened. Decided not to sharpen--no Gaussian blur, either--it just seemed right the way it was.

(Hope I don't get dinged for the slope of the hill! And that after being a stickler on level landscapes and knowing that this isn't level...wonder how it will be perceived.)

I predict a 5.2--just for fun.

You had to get up pretty early to get this shot. I really like the sun streamed into the branches of trees and the pristine snow. Excellent composition, and a good take on the challenge.

Very nice! It answers the challenge well. I love the streams of light through the trees, but they seem just a little too bright near the top. It washed the trees out a bit too much.

Great idea, good delivery. Composition could have been a little better by bringing the top down a little bit and avoiding the open white space on the top right, secluding the center as the only source of light.
