I originally wanted to do a portrait of both my cats together but decided I didn't want that kind of insanity.
Luckily one of them is very relaxed and quite the ham in front of the camera.
I setup a box lined with fleece for her to get comfy in. Put a lightbox to the right of her (this is rotated 90 counter-clockwise) as the only light source.
She happily laid there and "posed" for me, purring very loudly the whole time :)

I'm hoping this does well as I've had dismal finishes the last couple of challenges!

All these cat pictures are just fabulous! I love how relaxed and natural your cat looks in front of the camera. I also love the lighting - really brings out the texture and warmth of the fur and the glow and personality in the eyes!

This is perhaps the most interesting portrait in this challenge. Highly under rated. Congratulations on your 15th place finish.

Good one - nice light, strong pose and subject.

Separate score for cat's tactile 'fuzzy-felt' mouth/nose junction (specially evolved to accommodate a gently moving human fingertip):

One of the best cat shots, IMO. Your pose was unique and the focus is great. I would have preferred a different backdrop or at least more color contrast between the cat and the backdrop. As it is, it takes a minute to decide where the cat stops and the backdrop begins. Anyway, it is a great shot as it is.

VERY sweet. it's a little dark in the foreground IMO, it takes a second to deipher the pose and which parts are what, but a strong, strong entry.

Hahaha, so cute! The expression is priceless and the way the cat is set up is very cute. The choice of black and white is very nice, but I wonder what it would look like in color because with the B&W the cat almost blends into the background, a little hard to define. A 9
