 I went Carmel Beach, California and snagged this picture of a puppy playing in the surf. I asked the owner if I could snap a few shots.

It was such a magical moment with the sun setting behind the cool white sand and crystal clear blue water. The puppy was playing with this stick for the longest time, never getting bored!

Post: curves, hue, bright/contrast, USM.

I was a little hesitant to submit this because his face is slightly out of focus. I wonder how many comments I'll get about that. The water splashing all around and the amazing colors sold me though, so I had to submit it. We shall see...

The light in this is fantastiic; The color of the water is prefect. Unfortunately, the dog's face seems to be relatively in shadow as a result of the bright background. Still a great pic and one of my top pics.

What a lucky shot! Talk about timing! :)

This is a fun shot but not really a portrait. The dog is clearly having a lot of fun and very intent on grabbing that stick! The lighting on the left makes me say, "Oh yeah, beautiful!" it loses all it's appeal by the time I get to the right of the shot. Overblow and jpeg factors are really evident on that side. A 5

Yes, you do have captured a magical momen of a happy puppyt... you should try to balance the backlight sun is kind of bright.

Very nice lighting on the sunset. Its a bit of shame that the dog is not better lit; that's where a mounted flash helps quite a lot. Colours are rich and vibrant. Composition is missing something. Perharps to the fact that its a little off 'cause of the tail. I also find myself wanting to see more of the reflection. Nice work ! 7

This photo is more then nice. Actually I can't find the correct words for describe this photo. Just feel the motion in the picture. It got my eyes focused.

I was quickly scannig the images before voting and this made me say WOW...Beautiful composition and capture. if I had to critique it would be dog being out of focus, but nonetheless, still a great shot. Good Luck

I love the colors in this shot, though to me this is much more of a candid moment shot than a portrait really, still very nice though.

Nice color, a bit out of focus but that's not so important. However, it doesn't fit the traditional "portrait" definition, neverthless, i don't care, so you're getting a 10 :)

Excellent capture! I love the movement, the colors, the water spray. It's really very well done! I would love to see a version with his shadow, it looks like it could be a cool reflection. But really, that's neither here nor there. I give this a big fat 10!
