beautiful sky and picturesque scene but your choice of placing the horizon right in the center of the frame leaves the image a little flat. You could lose a lot of the foreground and strengthen the image as there is really no focal point in the grassy area. |

Maybe a different aperture would have let us seen more sky (really nice with the color and clouds) or maybe cropping more the grass(IMHO).. .
Anyway a lovely place , I wish I could be there ! |

Very good DOF. I think the centered subject and 50% horizon line distract from the photo however. Cculd have been stronger by shifting the subject over and either down or up to split 1/3 - 2/3's. |

Not sure about the centered horizon, which also feels a bit tilted. |

Perhaps cropping off a section of the bottom? I believe too much grass? I like the colors and the cloud formations. |

The rule of thirds would elimnate a lot of unnessary grass and give a better look at the sky. Placing the house off center would also help. good color. |

Image is tilted. I'd suggest not having your subject dead-center, and avoiding a 50/50 split with the sky and land. |

i can almost breathe in the fresh air coming across the field...what a beautiful place!
you've got a great vista, but what you're missing is composition and drama. when you center your subject like this, it comes across as a documentary snapshot. simply by changing your perspective and using the rule of thirds, you can make that subject something that catches the eye and invites the viewer to come and visit a while. sometimes, splitting the horizon down the middle can work, but it usually only works best when the two halves are equally compelling and interesting themselves. here, the foreground is just doesn't compete with the sky.
i can't tell if you had the opportunity, but it really would have been killer if you could have caught some of the cloud shadow on the ground.
lastly, you might want to take a look at this desaturized. this looks like it would have some strong potential as a black and white.
all the same, i love the colors, and hope it does well for you. good luck! |
