I like that the pin is curved. I spent a bit of time trying to figure out if it was really curved, or if it was just an illusion. I came to the conclusion that it is really curved.
Focus is really good in my opinion. I love the detail in the rocks, the drop and the pin.
Lighting is also very good. The only pick I have about the lighting is the white reflection in the water. Other than that, I think you did a great job. Seeing that this is an indoor shot, I think it would be easier to control the lighting so you did not get the white reflections. Maybe something between you and the light source?
I like the way you put the pin right in the center of the photo at a diagonal. Dead center doesn't always work, but I think it does here. It's a nice way to fill the frame with your entire subject. The diagonal is visually appealing and creates nice flow through the photo.
Having the tack 'dissapear' into the water is a nice touch as well.
Overall a very visually appealing photo that is technically very well done. Congrats. ~Heather~ |

Nice lighting, and I like the way the bend in the pin coincides with the shape of the rock. |

Oh no - not another water droplet image! ;^) Nice photo... Was it intentional to have the pin part of this pushpin bent? If not it was a cool accident. The bend mirrors the curve in the rock below it. Great focus, nice composition. Only downside I have is the image size - it's 20% smaller than allowed. Good luck! |

Nice, nice, nice. The drop is exquisite. The white stuff under the tack and rock are slightly distracting, but the eye is drawn to that beautiful water drop and the nail of the tack. |

Hey - I've seen this before! Wait - that was a branch. There are no TACKS in this image! ;) Good choice using a blue tack - greeny would have been tacky. Good DOF for a macro shot. Good originality. 8 because I want to. When is the drop going to fall? I can't wait any longer! |

This is great image.....I am just not sure if a different colored or type of tack would have made it better. I still gave it a 7. |

This is a great image, although I view the challenge as Plural, more than one tack. |
