Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Generally a nice entry with lots of colors. The flower's fakeness is a problem. It's immediately apparent that this was a cloth flower and such a realization was a let down. The lighting is perhaps a tad strong from the left side, and the background that's apparent behind the flower presented a pattern that distracts the viewer's eyes.
I agree with previous comments that the colors do clash and a darker, more subdued flower might be more effective. Hope this helps. |

I like the veining in the wings, texture in the petals on the right. Lighting looks a little harsher than necessary for my taste. |

poor choice of silk flowers as the grain in the fabric makes it clear that the flower is not real. |

the color of the flower may not have been the best for this piece of jewelry, though I like the idea of the item being on a flower. |

The DOF shows the texture to the artificial flower instead of the detail of the jewelry. The left side is blown out |

Overly saturated in lower left third. Great colors. I would have loved to see this pin on a real flower! |

I am having a tough time with this one.
This image is bursting with color from one corner to the other.
That much color is a clash in the eyes, especially when you are trying to grab attention to a primary focal point - the jewelry.
Perhaps a darker flower would have worked better, such as a dark rose.
Met the challenge, and did it with a color explosion on my monitor - LOL (5) |

Very nice broach or pin I believe. With this piece of jewelry I might have gone with a plain black background. The piece itself has a lot going on with all it's festive colors there is no need to add anything that could distract the viewer.
If I had to go with the bug/flower theme that you are trying to achieve here, I might have done it in the shade to avoid the hot spots that seem to pull my eye to the left. It is a colorful broach but the bright light on the petals is overbearing and draws me in that direction. Cool concept. |

Very nice composition. I think the light is a bit too bright on the left hand side of the photo. |

The light and reflection caught by the pin are very well done but I am distracted by the fabric flower. A real flower would've added more of a quality "feel" to the photo itself. |

Cute idea, but the overexposure on the left side is distracting. |

HAH! A fake bee pollenating a fake flower indoors under fake sunlight. Definitely good for a chuckle.
The colors in the bee look good together, they are all clear, primary colors. Fake daisy clashes subtly with itself (orange and magenta almost work; magenta and brown do not.) and strongly with the bee. The bee seems a little unsharp. The glare on the right and the resulting lens flare are distracting. |

Brilliant idea! the Brooch is well lit, nice & sparkely. But the flower isnt as nice, quite dark on the right and a bit blown out on the left. A pretty shot none the less |

Nice idea. I think the light on the left side is a bit too harsh for the softness of the flower. |

It looks like you were trying to imitate a flower with the jewelry on the artificial flower. Why not use a real flower? That would have been pretty cool. The "flower" in this case is distracting because of the cloth pattern. The lighting to the left is a bit hot, and you have some lens flare on the upper right of the flower it looks like. Neat concept. Good luck. |

light is too harsh on left side of photo and i cant tell this is a "forever flower". i would have darkened the left side of flower and softened the petals to make them more realistic looking or even dreamy but still keeping the jewelry sharp. good colors and focus...good luck
