Actually, it's narcissus 'Cheerfulness,' and it's from my garden. The smaller flower on the right and the challenge title suggested the title. Thanks to all who left comments.

I think that a touch more light from the right side would have made me like this a little better.

I like this photo but I think the flower is a little too big for the challenge...

Nice lighting on the flowers, good composition. However, I am starting to get bored by flat black background. 6

Nice use of negative space, and good color combinations. I'd love to see a little stronger focus on the blooms, especially the big one facing the viewer. I also like the angle of the stem, that it's not perfectly straight up and down. I wonder if people will comment that the subject is not sufficiently minimal - for me, it's on the border, so I am not going to vote this one according to whether the subject is minimal, but on the image itself.

(edit was just to correct a spelling error)

The colors of this photo perfectly contrast the background. I love the detail that can be seen in the flowers.

this plant has fallen in love with it's own reflection!

Oh no, that's the wrong definition... :-)

(Great photo)

This is very pretty and nicely focus. Meets the challenge well, but I'm not too thrilled about the lighting. Also, perhaps it would bring some punch to the picture if you were to adjust the color a little in post-processing. Bring out the yellow a little and increase saturation. Just my thoughts. 9

I'm no expert, but for me it could have done with a bit more lighting, or maybe a different angle for the light you used - the right of the flower seems just 'dull' rather than maybe the gradual shadow you wanted?

The flower appears a little dark. Perhaps moving the lighting to the right some or boosting the yellow up in post-processing would make it stand out better. Otherwise a very nice subject and composition. Meets challenge well. =8

Very good attempt here. I would only have the minimum of flowers though, to be truely minimalistic.

Elegantly simplistic. Good luck!
