 Natural stone from eastern Iceland in a necklace. I have always loved the floten texture so this is one of mine;-) I used supermacro on FujiFinepix S7000, placed the necklace over a lamp, tried not to shake my hand and this is it.

I used auto levels and contrast, a bit more contrast, little burn and dodge, cropped and resized.

The cropping seems a bit tight and overall the image is somewhat small.

Good use of teh ligting & subtle tones.
We are allowed 640 pixels on the longest side, and up to 150K. Using as much of the 150K as possible will only help to not compress the image. If you need help in understanding or making these happen, please don't hesitate to PM me and I can give you some pointers. (5)

With a different stone this lighting setup would have worked better, but this stone is complicated and I'd like to see more of a high key lighting setup. Nice job with the silver and dealing with the reflections though.

There has to to be a better way of showing a nice stone that on a flat black background.

Good work with the stone, but the chain seems too out of focus at top. Also the chain is lost a bit too much into the black background.
