great Portrait, I think that my eye doesnt naturally go to the ear though, its super high quality, but not a WOW, I like it and give it an 8.

I like the shot. The lighting and focus look good. The few strands of hair hooked under the earing are distracting. Next time, give the model a haircut first!.;-) I'll give you a "7". I probably would have missed the hairs while shooting myself! |

Very nice model and good angle and lighting. Little wisp of hair seems to distract for me but probably others like it. Good work. |

Just a little more detail is wanting on the earring, otherwise a very nice presentation and subject wears a good healthy and jovial smile. Bumping up. |

I'm drawn more to her eyes than to the earring...need to find a way to make it pop more. |

I love this picture. The model isn't too distracting, however she is slightly distracting. Would have worked better with a bigger earing. |

Nice Job! I would have considered cropping out more of the hair (part line is a bit distracting) and keeping more of her chin - as she seems a little cut off. I love the sharpening on the earring. I may have considered cloning out the wrinkles by her eye (I am not sure even if that would be allowed or not - but I do not think it's a major element in this photo) The background color change is distracting from her eye on down - about 1/2" strip - I think I would have cloned that to match the other. Beautiful girl - good choice. I think the teeth could have been dodged (or differently as I think some dodging was done) to eliminate the darker lower part on ther fron teeth. An eyelash brush could have helped. Depending on which monitor I look at the photo seems a little washed - not sure what it would have looked like if it were slightly darker. Bumping up 8 |

Hard style to do but you have done well with this, perhaps a tighter crop would focus more on the earling 6 |

There are some specular reflections or sharpening artifacts around the mouth area I'd have tried to prevent or remove, and moved or removed the wisp of hair by the earring, |

not sure about the gray background on the left. The model is very pretty and has a nice smile and I like that she appears to be quite appreciative to someone for her gift. the earring is just too far right for my taste and the image appears more about the person than the jewel. |

Nice overall tone & feel here.
Only suggestion would have been to subdue the eyes or a tighter crop to place the main focal point on the diamonds rather than the eyes. Earring is far too much to the right for the eyes to go and stay there naturally. Nice pleasant smile & pose. (7)
(at least your shot didn't have hairy ears like mine did - LOL) |

good shot. would work better if the diamond stud was set apart a bit more in terms of tone, sparkle or something. the glistening lips take away a bit from the stud, i think. 7 |

Very nice portrait type picture. May be a bit too subtle for a jewelry ad. Also, why B/W? That diamond would jump out more against skin color. JMO. Good luck. |

The women's face is too clear and draws my eyes to hers and then away from the picture. It had to keep staring back to ever focus on the earring which should have been the main focus. |

You should see if the Zales is hiring....you have their ad style down! Nice job |

For a jewellery advertisement, I would probably crop a lot closer.. maybe only the ear and some cheek, and try to zoom in on the earring.

Idea is good, unfortunatly the result is a bit deceptive. There is not enought emphasis on the jewel, we can barely see it. the B&W approach doesn't help it either. Sharpness is good tho. Composition could use some work too, i feel the model is Croped in a wierd manner. 5 |

There's a refreshing 'girl next door' look to the model. While most ad aproaches make you want it precisely because you cannot have it, this strikes me as taking a different approach. It strikes me as moral high ground - in a way. Appealing to our sense of beauty without tapping into those powerful 'deadly sin' emotions. Apologies for philosophizing, but I am interested in photography for more than what lies on the surface.
It's a beautiful shot. And it gets better and better with viewing. |

this is a very nice shot, which shows off the earrings well. One thing would improve this shot, in my opinion, a different crop/framing that includes her neck. |

Maybe a 3/4 profile would make this shot more striking. Good idea, though :). |

A nice shot (great portrait!), if it were a gold ear-ring I think selective desaturation would have worked really well. |

Nice black and white portrait, but the jewel kind of gets lost because our attention go to her beautiful eyes or her nice smile. I think that with a tighter crop, just showing her ear with the earring, this picture would have had a greater impact.
Nevertheless great picture :)) |

I like the model's pose and her upward gaze. The lighting is great and it imparts a flattering soft glow. The position of the earring I think could have been made to be more the center of focus in this ad perhaps by cropping less of the right edge. |

Those couple of hairs that go towards an earring should not have been there IMO. Still a very good photo, I like the presence of a live person in the advertisement for something that is supposed to be worn by a person. 7. |

Nicely done except for the one or two stray hairs around the earring. Also earring would stand out better if it was in color. |

doesnt really have the feel of an advert imo... if i saw this image outside the context of the challenge I would have thought it was a portrait rather than a jewelry ad. |
