Another shot of a aerobatic R/C airplane at the local Tracy Skyliners field. This 30% scale aircraft was doing some 3-D manuvers and I tried to catch him with some land in the picture to give it more depth. This was taken at 200MM with my Sigma 70-200lens.

If you cropped the ground out and included more sky above the plane (so it looks like it is flying up into the frame) you would have all your viewers going 'how the hell did he get that shot!' Great use of color against an almost monotone background to make the subject really jump out of the shot. This is a good example of what (to me) the challenge was all about. Now just get rid of the ground and this would be a super wow shot!

Good subject, but poor background, To avoid stalling gradually pull up especially under those conditions.

Sorry. I do not believe this meets the challenge criteria.

Great shot! The bright colors on the dull sky really help the plane stand otu

Is this a model airplane? color contrast is stunning.

this is a great shot the only suggestion i could make would be to cut out the land and leave only sky....

Nice color contrast, would be better if plane was higher and smaller and ground was out of frame all together.

nice crystal clear shot but not quite minimal IMO

Wow, the plane really stands out. For this challenge, I think it might work better if the ground were cropped out. (Or at least the buildings)

Nice colors. IMO, cropping a little more off the bottom (leaving just the mountain tops) might work better.

This is nice, think it's a bit bigger than I would have liked, but it works well. I like the brightness of the plane and give this a 10

Not that I have any experience taking photographs of airplanes but I have heard that if you use a shutterspeed that is faster than about 1/100-1/150 you "freeze" the propeller as you almost do here and there is something about wierd about the plane because of that, like it´s actually stalling and falling to the ground straight on it´s tail rather than climbing up into the sky. Composition isn´t bad but could be much better, the centered composition isn´t working here IMHO. Anyway, good shot, like that you included the ground in the frame and good colours and this is a pretty good shot, at least better than most in the challenge and I gave it a 6.

Cool image, I wish it wasnt smack in the middle! It seems to be a dreary day, which is a shame because I think it detracts from the image, only because I would of loved to see the sky a nice deep blue with few clouds! 7

Lovely shot - I like the contrast of the bright colours and grey sky. Maybe the plane takes up a bit much of the scene for this challenge?

great colours on the plane. If only it was complimented with a beautiful rich blue sky :(
