Thanks everyone for the comments and fairly high votes... haha, my only regret is that yes, zoomdak does look like he is going to the bathroom in my picture, it wasnt meant to be that way... haha, thanks all

Greeting from the Critique Club. Thank you for entering the Moods, DPChallenge.

Great capture of the beautiful sunset. There are many shades of brown and yellow. The lines on the beach are very striking. The big rock looks like some type of "monolith" or structure. The shadows or reflections from the big rock is very appealing. I guess the actual sun is behind the big rock. This is probably a great position to take this shot. Sometimes sunsets are difficult to frame and compose. The sun shining in the center of the frame actually blocks your view.

Again great shot of the sunset and your buddy's shadow in the foreground.

Technically this is a well done shot. You can't really go wrong on sunsets. Much of the shot is getting the sun and the other elements in the frame. The factor here is trying to figure out the "mood" of the shot. I am not sure how you are relating this image to a mood. It does communicate a sense of calm, and serene. But with your buddy in the center I wonder what the message is. He looks more like he is trying to get out of the shot.

By the way great title "Incandescent World". "Let there be light". This photo would have been a great image for shadows, and or silhouettes.

Great colors and composition. You will probably get a mix reaction on this entry.

Good luck in your next DPChallenge.

The figure crouched in the foreground doesn't seem to contribute anything positive to the image.

Super sunset/sunrise colors. Leaves me with a relaxing and tranquil mood.

Interesting subject. Looks like a shot of Zoomdak's...or maybe a shot of Zoomdak! ;D Nice capture you got, way to take advantage of the situation. The title bothers me, would be better if it were "Looking Out to Sea" or something like that, lol. The quality of the save might be better, there is a bit of bitmapping/noise (like in the cloud). Nice composition, sits well on the rule of thirds. Overall: Well, what can I say? It is a picture of me in my "natural habitat" lol.

I absolutely love the colors in this photo. Great job capturing a beautiful moment!! The shillouette of the rock and the person are very strong, but not overpowering. The reflections in the water are absolutely gorgeous. Bumping up!

allright sky, a little too high contrast and oversaturated

Stunning picture. Technically superb, just not sure if it captures "moods" in my understanding of the challenge, it creates a mood, rather than displaying one. I hope that makes sense! Still, i give you a 7, 10 if it fitted the challenge more (for my interuptation). Good luck

Wow the colors blow me away...I would have liked to see the person standing...the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was that..well he/she was taking a dump...but maybe it´s supposed to be that way...and you are "dumping" on romantic landscape-photos...fantastic job eiter way and makes me laugh, a 10 from me

Very nice, but wish something was in focus and silhouette was clearer with more impact.

A really nice sunset photograph.. but to my thoughts, it is in the wrong challenge. I'm not looking to have *my* mood affected by an image in this challenge, but to see how photographers capture the moods of their subjects. You have two subjects here, and neither one of them are emoting any kind of mood to me. I may feel something, but I don't see your subjects feeling anything, and this is where I think the challenge was trying to get to. Having the human subject in some other, emotive, pose.. would have been much, much stronger.

odd pose- what is he doing?

great photo - the clouds look a little grainy and the persons hair could have more sharpness - otherwise a 10 - an 8 from me

Hmmmm...looks like the cover or one of those CD's you buy in the store with the real peaceful music on it. This one contains Love Songs from the 60's, probably. Nice silhouettes and a combinations of both warm and cool colors accent this sunset. Nice Image. <5>
05/02/2005 05:36:34 AM
great shot, but the mood is...? incandescent-ness?
05/02/2005 04:48:37 AM
The balance seems rather right-heavy on this picture. i think either the crop should be looser on the right, or the crouching figure should be a bit farther left--or a bit of both. Mood is not clear, and the title is not helpful. But the colors are wonderful. (6)

Although I don̢۪t say this is a bad picture I have scored this low.
Low in my book is not extremely low, but I guess there will be other people thinking the same way I do who don̢۪t leave a comment.
Don̢۪t take this the wrong way, this is my own opinion, and I am trying to let you understand what some voters may think.

In my opinion this does not meet the challenge, the description of the challenge: Take a picture that captures an emotion.
I looked hard, but I don̢۪t see an emotion. This could be my fault, but that̢۪s the reason why I voted lower as I would normaly do.
05/02/2005 02:54:50 AM
Beutiful sunset. Cannot see an emotion here nor expression of a mood. Very nice sunset shot though.

Stands out from the crowd 10 not a lot of creativity in this challenge.

I love the background, except I admit I'd prefer to eithe rhave the person NOT be in the shot, or be looking outward, while standing, or even be holding hands as a couple.
05/02/2005 12:20:38 AM
Zoomy, if this is yours, I'm going to personally go chop down that rock myself and hide your camera! ;o) Great shot, regardless. I love the colors and the movement in the water. :o)
