 When I thought of "Late at Night" the idea of runaways came to mind. Since our town is one that kids tend to run from and not to, my wife and I decided to set the shot up ourselves. The idea came from an email that was circulated about a Dad who is awakended in the middle of the night by a phone call. On the other end is a young, desperate girl asking if she can please come home. Throughout the story, you are lead to envision the Dad and Mom in bed listening to the girl. We tried to capture the image of what that call would have looked like from the other end.

There's nothing about this picture that I don't love. It's so sad, but happy. Because she's phoning him...Wonderful. Good luck.

Nice array of colors and light, with the flashlight drawing the eye to the girl. Evocative, as well. I don't realy like the frame on this, as it detracts from the emotional connection, and the girl seems slightly out of focus.

Comment update: I wanted to let you know that despite the technical issues I mentioned, I'm rating this a 9, one of my favorite shots of this challenge.

You open up this picture and the story just tumbles out. Fantastic.
Any technical imperfections are lost in the sheer story of it.

I like the thoughtful way you approached this challenge. The shot might not be stunning on a technical level, but the storytelling quality to this piece invited a high mark from me.

IMO an image that evokes an emotional response when I first view it and still impresses me after closer inspection, Is a winner. 9 (i'd maybe give a 10, but I've yet to see the perfecf image).
