Challenge: Outside Looking In (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Lens: Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM
Location: home
Date: May 6, 2005
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 10 sec w/strobes
Galleries: Emotive
Date Uploaded: May 6, 2005

Made a black screen and cut out a diagonal and then a triangle on left in which to hide top of head and then on second exposure to cover bottom of face. Could not do much with lighting because I am trapped behind the cloth and anything fancy will throw off shadows, so two strobes on left and right of camera. Boring. This image may not do well, but this is merely the natural sequence to the other ideas. I need to get them out no matter the cost. Done.

I always find it amazing what you're able to do in camera. Someday I'm coming to New York so that you can teach me!

This is one of those "Huh?" photos that has me running all the possibilities I can imagine through my head to try to sort out the How? before the voting ends and your comments become available. If this was a double-exposure using some sort of 'barn door' to cover half the lens at a time, kudos for posing and masking for the shots! If it was done by another means ... well, I can't wait to read about them!

that's the way I feel most days. it's what I see inside that's scary. nice shot.

We would not usually cut someone's head open in this manner to look inside nor allow ours to be so cut off while gazing inside. I would also like to have somewhat of a peek inside myself. It is somewhat interesting that left and right halves are shown masked off with similar masks. Good modeling by observer, nice intense look. I assume you were both models and this is a dual strobed single long exposure. An 8 for creativity and execution.

Looks like too much editing involved, although the concept is great and very creative.

Very nice - presume double exposure in dark with two lights/flashes. Clever and appropriate, and technically very sound.
