Hello from the Critique Club!
I love flower shots and this one is very elegant but it does seem a little dark .. the vase gets kind of lost in the dark background ... actually with the calibration of my screen the only way i do see the vase is from the blue border that brightens it up. The Yellow tulip is very nice in detail, you have captured the petals nicely, but i would like to see it closer to the front of the image .. overall it is a nice image - keep up the good work!

Ah, if only the tulip showed a comparable minimal presence... The vase is soo sweet!

Very simple, but elegant. Might have brought out the yellow in the tulip and little better. Appears a little dark. I would have cropped a little closer to the vase on the bottom. The blue border is a little distracting. Might have been best left out.

Nice idea, but the lower portion of the photo are so dark that they become distracting.

Too much of the bottle is missing.

interesting use of color... the vase could probably use a little more light... some detail there would help the composition a bit... - setzler

I think I'd prefer to see the vase in this shot. The glass reflections are interesting, but overall they distract me from the rose. nice idea

good lighting on the flower. pretty dark through the rest. can barely make out that it is in a vase? Little tighter focus to bring out detail in the petals.

The vase was a bit distracting but i like the softness of the flower. Too many people have submitted overly sharpened flower images.... yours is not. Good job. 8

It would be better to see what holding the flower

The vase is a complete waste as you can barely see it. Maybe a different color bg? I'd just zoom closer to the flower - that's the subject anyways.

Very beautiful flower shot but your means of suport and stability are missing. What I mean is that I can not see It's vase very clearly and I know it's there cause I see a very little bit of it. As I said though very nice shot of lonliness.

Little too dark - I can see there's a vase but I can't really see it, which I find distracting.

What's in the center? Maybe if there were some more highlights to hint at what is there, enven if it doesn't reveal the whole thing.

If you lightened up the back so you could see the vase, that would bring more attention to the whole picture!

I know there's a vase there, I see some random distracting reflections on the bottom of the vase, you cropped for the vase, but I dont see a vase :) Think if you're gonna let it go with the white reflections on the bottom, may as well show the whole vase. If you were allowed to edit those dots out, it'd be a different story. 6

More light on the lower half might make this look less like the flower is "looming" out of the darkness. I like the idea however.
