Taken at Cedar River Walk Park between the Renton Airport and Boeing's Renton plant. The signs say don't feed the water fowl, but this guy is well fed, doesn't work for it at all and moderately tame, as long as you aren't a Seagull (he seems to hate the noisy devils!). Just for fun!

O.K. the water was really green with some blue sky reflections, but that didn't contrast with the white as strongly as I wanted, so I destaturated the greens and turned down their colors until the river ran black. I thought it really made the shot more interesting and made the feet stand out more strongly. As for clarity, he had been bathing himself, often, so his feathers were all wet and clinging to his body.

Very pretty shot. For what it worth - I would have prefered a more horizontal cropping giving the goose a place to swim from and to since the feet and bubbles are suggesting motion through the water. Color and contrast of black and grey tones of water make this a very sharp. Nicely done.

white is all colors together, but is really more of a neutral... plus the grayish water... color doesn't seem to be dominant here and the goose is a bit over exposed

Interesting that you got clear water and no reflection - the water looks so dark! The bird is whiter than natural, too..Was this off-camera direct or PS'd? I think i'd love the whole thing a bit more natural looking.

I feel this picture lacks some sharpness. A faster shutter speed should take care of that next time.

Thats the clearest black water I've ever seen. j/k Good contrast with a touch of color, I just think there should be more room to the right of the duck. --7

An interesting take on the theme - not many people this week (myself included) will have thought of using white as the colour - but it's perfectly valid!
