Challenge: Silhouettes II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Lens: Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Location: Lake Zurich, IL
Date: May 14, 2005
Aperture: f/22
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/250 sec
Galleries: Emotive, Floral
Date Uploaded: May 14, 2005

Hung a sheet of rip stop nylon in the middle of the room. Positioned my daughter behind the fabric and put 2 strobes behind her. Put 2 ND filters over the lens to darken the shot since 1/250 sec is the fastest my 10D can go with the Alien Bee lights. She is reaching around the sheet with her arm holding the rose. Some slight spot editing to remove wrinkles and clean up some wierd spots in her silhouette.

A very nice study and great use of a screen to isolate the imagery. Bump.

It's a very nice photo, but to me it's not really a silhouette. It would have been though if you had turned it into B&W and darkened it a little.

I'm afraid you;ve got your wires crossed as to what a silouette is. Shame, it's a good photo.

I would infinitely prefer this shot without the hand and rose, which give it a stock-shot vibe. The face is a beautiful and has plenty of interest all on its own. Well shot.

Lovely photo but one the borderline of the Silhouette issue...

What a pretty photo! I just love the blurry softness of your silhouette!

this has too much detail to be a silhouette

While this is a beautiful image, I think there is too much detail to be considered a true silhouette.

not really a silhouette (though nicely done) - too much detail.

Too much detail, meter the backround, increase two stops and try it again.

Good choice on subject and title.... but.... Blur job is way overdone. I don't think this is a silhoette by the purest definition.
