Challenge: Silhouettes II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location: Weirton, WV
Date: May 12, 2005
Aperture: 22
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1
Galleries: Emotive, Candid
Date Uploaded: May 15, 2005

I read a journal on how to shoot silhouettes at 2am, and started messing around then. I actually like the shot for it being done on short notice. The nice thing is there is no advanced editing in this shot. What you see is how it was shot.

Cooked an intimate meal for two?....bit melodramatic for my tastes.

Something about the pose looks unnatural to me -- almost like your subject was standing in such a way to get as much "silhouette" as possible, which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but it kinda looks like one of those police outlines you see on the pavement

More back lighting needed here, so as to really define the shape of the silhouette

Nice mood set by the lighting. Wish the foreground was a bit crisper and the head was a bit more isolated from the body.

You almost got it. I don't think this one is quite there yet. Great idea though.
