COMPOSITION
I really like the diagonal lines, and the different angles the lines have in this shot. The eyes have something to follow. Normally, I think shots like this are too busy, but this one actually has a reason for being so, and I think that makes it particularly effective.
TECHNIQUE
The focus works here, I think, though it may have been interesting to see what effect a deeper depth of field would do. The colors are wonderful, and I like how the skittle is just hanging out! Like I pointed out previously, the lighting does seem a little harsh to me, but at least it is uniform across the candy. Also, I am not sure what you can do to prevent that, other than using a diffuser or bouncing light off of something.
OVERALL EFFECT
This shot is very interesting, and met the challenge in a creative way. Good work, and best to you in future challenges.

Super idea, and well executed. The harsh light on the candies is a bit distracting, but the composition is fantastic, creating a lively, engaging image. |

Well, the orange row seems to have an "extra" in there. Focus is good at the front, but looses it rapidly to the back. Lots of glare dots (two per candy) says you might want to try a "softer" light. 8 Rob the Swash |

Them darned skittles! :-)
Nice composition. I think the lighting might work better defused some. The highlights on the candies is a little bright. Otherwise, good colors and execution. |

Ahhh. The skittle invasion. It only takes one, you know. Good use of your focus depth and your exposure is nicely done, too. |

Nice composition and color. Slightly wide border (in my opinion) still works. Cute idea, well done! |

Nice idea! Made me laugh...
Additional comment: It took my daughter to find the skittles ... I feel so dumb! I thought it was the orange M&M in the middle. |

I had a similar idea to this. This is a nice setup from a really good idea. Lighting seems a little harsh on them. Shame there wasn't a good way to diffuse some of it so the highlights weren't quite so bright. Good concept and execution nonetheless. |

I think, in this case, that the narrow depth of field detracts from the idea. Perhaps a smaller aperture setting would have improved things for me. |

Nice pic. I'm guessing the extra orange is the party crasher? |
