To me this just looks like specks of light. I am not sure if it is something granular, but making it more obvious might help.

Theoretically meets the challenge but the photo is all background and no subject. I have found it best to have a subject in focus. Otherwise, there is no place for my eye to come to rest. And I suspect color might have worked better than this desaturated version.

There is glare on the grains, none are in focus, and the image was just too dark.
