Yes, there's a person in the photo, but the focus of the image is the dog... |

What's lacking in the technicals is made up in impact. Were you wearing your cat suit? Zoomed out just a little to include the dog's paws would be better, but I imagine it's hard to think straight in this situation. Very good. |

Hold onto that rope, dude! |

Top picture, the person holding the lead should look at bit more menacing though. Or be a bit of a contrast (someone elderly or a youngster) |

Dogs are people too? Seems slightly over-exposed(mouth, ground) and a little blurry. Try getting more depth-of-field and have both the dog and the handler in focus. |

Wow, how did you get this photograph? Were you in the wrong place at the wrong time? |

VERY scary!!!! If this were a scary dog challenge you would win hands down. Unfortunately for you, this is a PEOPLE challenge. Yes, you have a person in the frame, but he is fully secondary. Black and white may have also hurt this shot, the leaves on the ground wash out, look bad. This might have worked better in color. Photo 7 (9 in color, I think) Creativity 8 People 5 total 7 |

Hope the leash holds! Dang, that is one scary looking dog. Since there is a "margin" on the right, I think it might have seemed better balanced if there was one on the left as well. |

Focus is on dog. not on "people" |

This would grab me in any newspaper/magazine.... Were you frightened? How did you keep the camera still? I'd be shaking! |

Man that dog looks ticked off! Great use of black and white. Nice focus. And one extra point for having the kahunna's to get that close to this animal. |

Scary subject, nice side lighting. The officer doesn't seem to worried about her dog. "But grandma what big teeth you have!" Love the texture in the animal's coat. |

Excellent! If your camera allows this I would have been tempted to open up the aperture (smaller F stop) to reduce the depth of field so that the dog was still sharp and the guy was slightly less in focus - at the moment he's so sharp he's distracting from the action (mind you, if you'd done this you would have got comments about it not being a people shot!). Assuming it wasn't me taking this shot - I'd suggest getting lower down so that the dog really is right on top of you. |

I think I would have been out of there.... not taking a picture. |

Woah. Great timing on this shot. Why b/w? I think it works, but I think color would probably have worked just as well. (That's merely my taste and speculation, though). |

Good contrast in emotion. |
